Mortlach brings bold flavour to Speyside. In a region generally known for its smoother, gentler style of whisky, Mortlach’s exceptional flavour bridges the gap between mellow and smoky. This Mortlach 14 Year Old has been nicknamed Alexander’s Way in honour of the distillery’s former owner, Alexander Cowie: thanks to him, Mortlach distils its spirit 2.81 times, a rather unique process known as ‘The Way’. This expression has been matured for 14 years in refill bourbon and sherry casks, resulting in aromas of lemon zest, apple cake, cinnamon and vanilla, flavours of ginger, clove, nutmeg, pepper, chocolate, peaches, sweet malt, and smoke as well as a long, warming finish of spices, grapefruit and oak.
