To make Laphroaig Select, the master distiller chooses spirit from five different casks: new American oak, Pedro ximenez-cured hogsheads, Oloroso sherry seasoned butts, first-fill bourbon quarter casks and even the quintessential 10 year old. This results in a smooth and toned down version of this Islay classic, with notes of apple, lemon, vanilla, chocolate and spices meeting gentle oak, peat and smoke. A fantastic introduction to peated whisky.
