This edition takes it name from the ornate square design that adorns most Glenmorangie bottles and is inspired by the simple pleasure found in a cup of the favourite Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee of Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Master of Whisky Creation. It begins with precious chocolate malt spirit, made just once a year in its giraffe-high stills by a team of 16 distillers known as the ‘Sixteen Men of Tain’. Over the years, its power is tempered with rare and treasured casks: bourbon for creaminess, sherry for sweetness and virgin charred oak for spice, all balanced by some of the oldest whisky stocks and eventually bottled with no chill filtration. The result? A velvet explosion of flavour. Bitter mocha, fresh orange, sizzling spice, toasted hazelnuts and dark chocolate, mellowed by soft raisins and smooth butterscotch.
