The first entry in the Glenfiddich Experimental Series – a whisky finished in casks seasoned with India Pale Ale. In the first experiment of its kind, Malt Master Brian Kinsman collaborated with Seb Jones, an entrepreneurial Speyside brewer, to create a new craft IPA and pioneer the way for a new kind of single malt scotch whisky. The Speyside Craft Brewery created a special beer which was aged in ex-Glenfiddich casks for a month before they were returned to the distillery and filled with whisky for a three-month finishing period. The result has an aroma of fresh green apples, pears, barley sugar with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg complemented with aromatic hops and fresh herbs. The flavours are vibrant with a zesty citrus note followed by creamy vanilla, toffee, cocoa and a hint of fresh hops. This malt is proof that remarkable feats can be achieved when great people get together.
